A purchase list, not just an area.

Enter the measured floor area and the product’s stated coverage per pack. Required area = measured area × (1 + waste ÷ 100). Divide by pack coverage and round up to whole packs. Metric and imperial switching converts both area inputs.

The filled-in values are examples, not a product recommendation. Use the manufacturer’s coverage and advice for your surface or laying pattern. This is a preliminary materials estimate; it excludes labour, delivery, taxes and other supplies. A waste allowance is not a contingency for hidden work. Currency labels do not convert prices.

How much extra flooring should I buy?

Around 5–10% extra for straight laying in simple rooms, and more for herringbone, diagonal patterns or rooms with many corners. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance for your product.

How do I work out how many boxes of flooring I need?

Multiply the floor area by 1 plus the waste allowance, divide by the coverage of one pack, and round up. 20 m² with 10% waste and 2.2 m² packs needs 10 packs.

Can I use square feet?

Yes. Switch the units to square feet and the calculator converts the area and the pack coverage.
